Former reality TV star Joseph Duggar has been released on bond after appearing in a Florida court on serious child molestation charges.
Duggar, who appeared on the TLC show 19 Kids and Counting, was arrested in March and charged with lewd and lascivious molestation involving a child under the age of 12. The allegations are connected to an incident that reportedly happened during a family vacation in Florida in 2020.
Authorities say the victim, who was 9 years old at the time, reported multiple incidents of inappropriate contact. Duggar allegedly admitted to the behavior during conversations with the girl’s father and later in a monitored call with police, according to court documents.
A judge set Duggar’s bond at $600,000, and he has pleaded not guilty to the charges. As part of his release conditions, he is not allowed to have unsupervised contact with minors while the case continues.
