The number of American military casualties in the growing conflict with Iran has risen again. U.S. Central Command confirmed that a seventh U.S. service member has died from injuries sustained during recent attacks in the Middle East.

According to officials, the soldier had been seriously wounded during an Iranian attack on U.S. forces in Saudi Arabia earlier in the conflict. The service member later died from those injuries after receiving medical treatment.

The latest death comes after six U.S. Army Reserve soldiers were killed in a drone strike in Kuwait that targeted a military operations center during the early stages of the war.

The conflict began after joint U.S. and Israeli strikes against Iranian targets, which were followed by waves of Iranian missile and drone attacks on military sites across the region.

Several U.S. bases in countries including Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, and the United Arab Emirates have been targeted during the retaliation. Military officials say multiple service members have also been injured in the attacks.

President Donald Trump and other officials recently attended a ceremony honoring the fallen troops as their remains were returned to the United States.

Defense officials warn that the situation in the region remains extremely volatile, and further casualties are possible as military operations continue.
