Hillary Taymour showcased her Fall 2026 Ready-to-Wear collection under the title “The World Is a Vampire,” highlighting a fusion of gothic aesthetics and sustainable practices. The presentation drew enthusiastic support from attendees, many wearing the designer’s signature bug-eye sunglasses even as night fell. Taymour, who has carved out a distinct niche similar to designers like Marine Serre, continues to expand her brand through unique collaborations and accessories such as enamel rings and partnerships with Puma, Vans, and Ugg.
The collection embraced dark, dramatic elements including Dracula-inspired ruffs, Victorian-style puffed sleeves, and voluminous trains, reflecting the somber mood Taymour associates with current times. Despite the gothic influence, the lineup also prominently featured delicate sheer floral dresses and subtle slip designs, pieces that remain consistent sellers for the label. Taymour stated that with wedding season approaching, the availability of these designs in her Canal Street flagship is a priority. She emphasized the direct connection between the runway pieces and the retail offerings, pointing out the straightforward path from show to store which contrasts with the often purely promotional nature of larger fashion houses’ shows.
Taymour also highlighted her commitment to sustainability through the use of innovative materials. Notably, she incorporated bio fluff, a biodegradable fur alternative made from recycled hemp, viscose, and Tencel, marking a pioneering move within New York Fashion Week. She noted this material decomposes naturally when buried, offering an environmentally friendly alternative amid growing concerns over synthetic fur substitutes.
Business growth also reflects the rising impact of Collina Strada, with Taymour reporting a 95% increase in sales via Shopify. This growth aligns with her successful collaborations, including a recent project reviving rollneck sweaters with J.Crew. The designer’s approach continues to balance responsible production with bold creativity, maintaining her brand’s identity within a competitive fashion landscape.
Taymour’s Fall 2026 collection underscores her ongoing dedication to blending distinct stylistic elements with sustainability, affirming Collina Strada’s presence as a unique and conscientious label.
