A mom has gone viral after sharing how she teaches her kids to handle bullying — and not everyone agrees with her approach.
Brittany Norris, 27, posted a video explaining that she encourages her children to defend themselves physically if another student hits them at school.
Instead of telling them to walk away or only report it, she said they have her permission to hit back. She even added that if the situation isn’t handled, she would step in herself.
The video quickly blew up online, racking up millions of views and sparking a heated debate in the comments.
Some parents strongly supported her stance. Many said they were raised to “tell a teacher,” but felt that approach often didn’t solve anything in real situations.
Others shared personal stories about their children being bullied repeatedly, saying schools didn’t always step in quickly enough to stop it.
Supporters argued that teaching kids to stand up for themselves can build confidence and may even discourage bullies from continuing.
But not everyone agreed.
Critics warned that encouraging kids to fight back could lead to bigger problems, including school punishment or situations escalating further.
The discussion is still ongoing — but one thing is clear: parents are deeply divided on what the “right” lesson really is.
