Authorities in New Orleans have issued a new warrant tied to actor Shia LaBeouf’s arrest during Mardi Gras early on February 17. The warrant, released on Friday, pertains to an additional victim involved in a physical altercation outside R Bar in the French Quarter. Multiple sources confirmed the development to local media outlets.
The incident began when LaBeouf allegedly became involved in a confrontation with at least two individuals, during which he was reported to have used homophobic slurs. The altercation ended with LaBeouf being physically overpowered and subsequently detained by police on two counts of simple battery. According to official reports, the actor was later released on his own recognizance without the need to post bond.
Following his release, LaBeouf was seen continuing Mardi Gras celebrations along Bourbon Street, even displaying his release papers to other revelers. However, at a court hearing on Thursday, a judge criticized LaBeouf’s use of offensive language during the incident and imposed a $100,000 bail. Additionally, the judge mandated that the actor undergo drug testing and enroll in substance abuse treatment programs. LaBeouf’s request to leave the parish to attend his father’s baptism in Rome was denied.
Law enforcement officials have not yet provided further comment on the new warrant. The case remains active, with the legal process ongoing.
