A recent episode of Wheel of Fortune left fans laughing and stunned when a contestant froze during the high-stakes Bonus Round.

Sam Oh, from Cypress, Texas, competed against his two coworkers, Peter Jung and Daniel Park, during “Bragging Rights Week.” The trio all work together in a pediatric office, making the competition as personal as it was competitive.

The episode was full of laughs before the Bonus Round, including jokes about Jung having treated Park as a pediatrician years ago. The men even agreed the loser would wear humorous “Wheel of Misfortune” t-shirts — which Oh’s teammates proudly donned.

Oh dominated the main game, solving puzzles like “Giving a Little Pep Talk” and “Surround Sound System,” winning a total of $28,050 along with a trip to Costa Rica. Jung and Park also earned prizes, including a trip to Maui and $16,450 for Jung.

During the $1 million Bonus Round, Oh froze on stage while picking letters. After spinning the wheel and receiving the standard R, S, T, L, N, and E, he hesitated to choose additional letters. Host Ryan Seacrest had to nudge him along as the tension built.

Oh eventually guessed letters to fill out the puzzle, which ended up reading “O_T O_ _ C.” He guessed “Out of” but could not solve the final word, which was “Out of Whack,” leaving the $1 million wedge unclaimed. Fans immediately flooded social media, reacting to the dramatic pause and near-miss.

Despite the stumble, the episode highlighted the fun, unpredictable nature of the show and proved that even experienced contestants can feel the pressure when massive prizes are on the line.
