Jordan Adams, 30, has revealed he will likely develop early‑onset dementia in his 40s after being told he carries a rare gene linked to the condition.

Jordan’s mother died from frontotemporal dementia at age 52, and he and his brother Cian both inherited the same faulty gene that caused her illness.

The condition can lead to speech problems, personality changes and loss of mental abilities over time.

Jordan says learning he will struggle with memory and cognition has been terrifying, especially the fear of forgetting loved ones and life’s precious moments.

He shared that he and his partner faced a heartbreaking choice when they learned their unborn child also carried the gene.

Despite the fear, Jordan is using his experience to raise awareness and funds — including running 33 marathons in 33 days to support dementia research and his own foundation.

He says the goal is to build a legacy that will help other families facing similar challenges and to live purposefully while he still can.
