Savannah Guthrie returned to NBC’s “Today” show on Monday after being away for more than two months. Her absence came as she focused on searching for her mother, Nancy Guthrie, who went missing in late January and is believed to have been abducted.
On air, Savannah opened the broadcast with quiet strength, simply saying, “It’s good to be home,” and moved straight into the day’s news.
After the broadcast, she walked onto the Today plaza outside the studio and was greeted by a cheering crowd of fans holding supportive signs and yellow ribbons — a color many have used to show hope for her mother’s return.

At that moment, Savannah became visibly emotional, fighting back tears of gratitude as she thanked the crowd for their letters, prayers and overwhelming kindness.

Co‑hosts including Jenna Bush Hager, Craig Melvin, Al Roker and Carson Daly stood with her, offering support and encouragement throughout the heartfelt moment.
Fans and colleagues praised her resilience and “Today” family atmosphere as she navigates this difficult personal chapter while resuming her public role.
Savannah’s mother, Nancy Guthrie, 84, was last seen at her Arizona home on January 31, and authorities including the FBI continue to investigate the case.
