Iran has issued a warning that UK-based targets could be attacked if Britain becomes more involved in the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.
The warning came from Iran’s ambassador to the UK, who said military bases connected to U.S. operations could become targets depending on Britain’s actions.
One location mentioned was RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire, a base that has been used by American forces during military operations linked to the conflict.
Iran has already attempted long-range missile strikes linked to Western military bases, including a previous missile launch toward the Diego Garcia base in the Indian Ocean.
The ambassador said any response would be based on self-defence, but warned Britain to be very careful about its involvement in the conflict.
Initially, the UK government tried to distance itself from U.S. military operations, but the situation changed after Iran moved to restrict the Strait of Hormuz, a critical global oil route.
Experts say military bases connected to U.S. operations are often considered strategic targets in conflicts, rather than civilian areas.
The warning highlights growing fears that the conflict could spread beyond the Middle East and involve Western countries directly.
