The investigation into the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie has taken another dramatic turn after a new anonymous demand letter claimed to identify the people allegedly responsible for kidnapping the 84-year-old.

According to TMZ, the latest message was sent from the same email address that previously delivered ransom notes connected to the case and contains new claims that investigators have not publicly confirmed.

Letter Claims Phone Contains Key Evidence

The anonymous sender claimed to have hidden a cellphone in a secure location containing evidence related to Nancy’s disappearance.

According to the letter, the device allegedly includes:

  • Photos of two people the sender claims were involved.
  • Their names, addresses and ages.
  • A video allegedly showing what the sender described as the “main guy” with Nancy on what was claimed to be “probably her last day.”

The sender also provided a new Bitcoin wallet address while referencing one used in previous ransom communications.

TMZ reported that it immediately forwarded the email to the FBI.

Authorities Have Not Verified the Claims

At this stage, none of the allegations contained in the latest letter have been verified by investigators.

PEOPLE reported that both the FBI and the Pima County Sheriff’s Department were contacted for comment but had not responded by the time of publication.

Law enforcement has not publicly identified any suspects in the case.

Earlier Ransom Notes Claimed Nancy Had Died

The newest letter follows earlier messages that surfaced this week.

One alleged ransom note claimed Nancy died unintentionally shortly after being abducted from her Tucson, Arizona, home on Feb. 1.

According to multiple media reports, that message expressed regret over her death but did not include a demand for money in exchange for the return of her body.

An earlier communication had demanded millions of dollars in Bitcoin for Nancy’s safe return and reportedly included information investigators considered significant enough to examine further.

Investigation Remains Active

Nearly five months after Nancy disappeared, her whereabouts remain unknown.

The Pima County Sheriff’s Department has repeatedly said the investigation remains active and ongoing.

Sheriff Chris Nanos previously said investigators continue reviewing DNA evidence and digital information in hopes of uncovering new leads that could help solve the case.

For now, the latest anonymous letter represents another unverified development in an investigation that continues to raise more questions than answers.
