Zoey Deutch says sharing the screen with Jennifer Aniston in her new comedy was an unforgettable experience, calling it one of the most surreal moments of her career.
Speaking about the film Gail Daughtry and the Celebrity Sex Pass, Deutch praised Aniston’s talent and professionalism, saying she had admired the actress for years and was inspired by watching her perform up close.
‘Every Take Was Brilliant’
Although the pair had met before, Deutch said actually working alongside the former Friends star was a completely different experience.
She described Aniston as warm, funny, and incredibly generous, adding that she often found herself watching in amazement instead of focusing on her own performance because every take felt effortless.
A Comedy Built on an Unusual Premise
In the comedy, Deutch stars as Gail Daughtry, a Kansas hairdresser whose wedding plans are thrown into chaos after discovering her fiancé in a compromising situation with Jennifer Aniston, who plays a fictional version of herself in a cameo appearance.
Determined to even the score, Gail embarks on a wild adventure to track down her own celebrity “hall pass,” played by Jon Hamm, setting off a series of outrageous and unexpected events.
Trusting the Director’s Vision
Deutch also praised director David Wain, saying his unique comedic style made the project unlike anything she had done before. She explained that she trusted his creative instincts completely, even when scenes seemed unusual during filming.
The actress said making the film was an incredibly fun experience and credited Wain’s distinctive storytelling for bringing the offbeat comedy to life.
