The actor first shared the concept during a fan event in 2025, explaining that he imagined Kevin as a busy single father who struggles to balance work and family life.

He suggested that his son’s frustration would lead to a humorous role reversal, giving longtime fans a fresh twist on the original story while keeping its signature slapstick comedy.

Although a source told PEOPLE that Disney liked Culkin’s idea, the studio has not confirmed that the sequel has received official approval.
