Designer Jane Wade unveiled her Fall 2026 Ready-to-Wear collection, titled “The Summit,” which explores the intersection of corporate life and the natural landscape of the Pacific Northwest. The collection reflects a narrative of a woman escaping the rigid corporate environment to embark on a transformative journey along the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT).
Wade’s collection debuted in a Williamsburg warehouse transformed into a forest-like runway, featuring moss and trees to evoke the trail experience. The show presented characters from the journey, including ski patrol figures outfitted in off-white funnel neck jackets tailored with cinched waists and multiple pockets, as well as mystical wilderness creatures represented through crocheted paracord gowns enhanced with elaborate headpieces.
Staying true to her origins with cotton poplin, Wade introduced new materials such as nylon and paracord to add texture and structure. Notably, an aqua nylon dress featured functional drawcords employed to shape and add volume to the silhouette. The collection also included nylon corsetry reinforced with tentpole boning to create architectural forms. However, some designs, like a dress with a tentpole hem, pushed boundaries in ways that occasionally appeared unconventional.
Although early in her career, Wade continues to demonstrate growth and a strong creative identity with each season. For Fall 2026, she presented a distinctive fusion of corporate utilitarian style with outdoor adventure elements, emphasizing a personal storytelling approach. Observers note potential for further refinement in her future work, suggesting the designer could benefit from dialing back some of the more experimental structural elements to sharpen her aesthetic direction.
