Actors Maya Hawke and musician Christian Lee Hutson were married on February 14 at St. George’s Episcopal Church in New York City. The wedding ceremony was attended by Hawke’s parents, actors Uma Thurman and Ethan Hawke, along with several of her co-stars from the television series “Stranger Things,” including Sadie Sink, Finn Wolfhard, Caleb McLaughlin, Joe Keery, Gaten Matarazzo, and Natalie Dyer.
Hawke, aged 27, and Hutson, who is 35, were first publicly seen together in late 2023 although their creative partnership dates back several years. They have collaborated on multiple music projects, with Hutson contributing to Hawke’s second studio album, “Moss,” and Hawke lending vocals on Hutson’s 2024 release, “Paradise Pop. 10.”
Christian Lee Hutson was born in Kansas City, Missouri, and raised in Los Angeles from the age of five. He began learning guitar at 12, drawing inspiration from artists like Hank Williams and Elliott Smith. Hutson initially developed his country-folk style as a member of The Driftwood Singers, a group formed by students at the California Institute of the Arts. After starting his solo career with two low-profile albums, his career gained significant momentum in 2018 following his collaboration with Grammy-winning artist Phoebe Bridgers. Bridgers has produced much of Hutson’s work, including his breakthrough 2020 album “Beginners,” the 2022 album “Quitters,” and the most recent “Paradise Pop. 10.”
Hawke and Hutson’s professional relationship began before their public appearance as a couple. Hutson contributed songwriting to Hawke’s 2022 album “Moss.” In an interview, Hawke described sending Hutson poems which he transformed into songs, highlighting their ongoing musical exchange. Their collaboration continued with Hawke’s 2024 album “Chaos Angel,” alongside Hutson’s projects and joint live performances.
The couple made their first red carpet appearance together in April 2025 at the premiere of “John Proctor Is the Villain,” a project involving Hawke’s “Stranger Things” colleague Sadie Sink. Shortly afterwards, Hawke was seen with what appeared to be an engagement ring.
Their wedding on Valentine’s Day was a private yet star-studded occasion, celebrating both their personal and artistic partnership.
