Mel Schilling, the relationship expert from Married at First Sight, has died at age 54 after a battle with bowel cancer that later spread to her brain. Her family confirmed she died “surrounded by love.”
She was first diagnosed with colon cancer in December 2023 and underwent surgery and chemotherapy. Although she was initially given the all clear, the cancer later returned and spread to her lungs and brain, and she was eventually told the illness was terminal.
Before her death, she had shared updates about her health and encouraged people to get checked if something didn’t feel right, after her early symptoms were mistaken for less serious issues.
She is survived by her husband and their daughter.
