The United States is preparing to deploy around 1,000 soldiers from the 82nd Airborne Division to the Middle East as tensions in the region continue to rise.

Sources said the troops are expected to deploy in the coming days, even as Donald Trump said he remains optimistic that a deal to end the conflict with Iran could still be reached.

At the same time, attacks across the region have continued. A residential area in Tehran was reportedly hit by an airstrike, while an Iranian missile strike injured several people in central Israel.

Officials also said drones struck a fuel tank at Kuwait International Airport, raising concerns about energy supplies and infrastructure in the region.

Meanwhile, Iran said it will continue charging ships a fee for safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most important oil shipping routes.

Several countries are now taking precautions due to energy concerns. Japan announced it will release oil from its emergency reserves, while the Philippines declared a national energy emergency.

The situation remains unstable as military activity continues while political leaders discuss the possibility of a deal.
