Hollywood legend Kim Novak has spoken out about an upcoming film based on her relationship with entertainer Sammy Davis Jr., and she is not happy about the actress chosen to play her.
In a recent interview with The Times of London, Novak criticized the casting of Sydney Sweeney in the upcoming biographical film Scandalous!, which will focus on Novak’s romance with Davis in the 1950s.

Novak Speaks Out About Casting Choice
Novak didn’t hold back when discussing the casting decision and her concerns about how the relationship will be portrayed on screen.
She reportedly said:
“There’s no way it wouldn’t be a sexual relationship because Sydney Sweeney looks sexy all the time. She was totally wrong to play me.”

Novak also expressed concern that the film would focus too heavily on the sexual side of their relationship rather than the emotional connection they shared.
A Controversial Relationship In Hollywood History
Novak’s relationship with Sammy Davis Jr. was highly controversial at the time due to racial tensions in the United States during the 1950s. Interracial relationships were still heavily stigmatized, and the couple reportedly faced significant pressure because of their relationship.

Because of this historical context, Novak appears concerned that the film may oversimplify the relationship and focus on the scandal rather than the personal story behind it.
Film Already Generating Attention
The film Scandalous! will be directed by Colman Domingo. Even though the movie has not yet been released, Novak’s comments have already generated controversy and debate online, particularly around casting choices and how real-life relationships are portrayed in Hollywood films.
Biographical films often face criticism from the real people they portray, but Novak’s strong comments have drawn particular attention to this project long before its release.
