A new royal biography has revealed a touching moment between Queen Elizabeth II and her great-granddaughter Princess Lilibet, offering a rare glimpse into the late monarch’s private life.
According to the book, the Queen met Lilibet only once, during the Platinum Jubilee celebrations in June 2022, when Prince Harry and Meghan Markle returned to the UK with their children.

At the time, Lilibet was just one year old, and the Queen was reportedly “thrilled” to finally meet her namesake, whose name honors the monarch’s childhood nickname.
The moment itself was described as warm and playful, with Lilibet crawling around at the Queen’s feet, creating a lighthearted family memory during the historic celebration.
Prince Harry later reflected on the meeting in his memoir, recalling how the Queen affectionately referred to the children as “sweet” while enjoying their company.
Sadly, this would be their only meeting. Just a few months later, Queen Elizabeth II passed away in September 2022, making the encounter even more meaningful in hindsight.

The biography also suggests the Queen had hoped to spend more time with her great-grandchildren, wanting to create lasting memories with her family in her final months.
The story has resonated with many, offering a softer, more personal look at the monarch beyond her public role.
