Elton John has made a candid—and slightly shocking—admission about his health after decades in the spotlight.
Speaking at the premiere of his documentary Elton John: Never Too Late, the legendary musician joked that “there’s not much of me left” following years of medical procedures.
“I’m Still Here”
Addressing the audience, the 79-year-old reflected on just how much his body has been through:
“To be honest with you, there’s not much of me left.”
He then listed multiple surgeries and removals, including:
- Tonsils
- Adenoids
- Appendix
- Prostate
He also revealed that he has undergone major joint replacements, saying:
“I don’t have a right hip or a left knee or a right knee… the only thing left to me is my left hip.”
Despite everything, he ended on a positive note:
“But I’m still here.”
Ongoing Health Challenges
The “Rocket Man” singer has faced several serious health issues in recent years.
In 2024, he suffered a severe eye infection that left him with limited vision, including loss of sight in one eye.
He also had a pacemaker fitted back in 1999 after being diagnosed with an irregular heartbeat.
Has He Retired?
While Elton John officially stepped away from touring in 2023 after completing his Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour, he hasn’t fully retired from music.
The decision was made to focus more on family life with his husband David Furnish and their children.
However, fans may still see him on stage occasionally.
He’s already been linked to major future appearances, including festivals like Rock in Rio, and even potential high-profile events.
A Legend Still Standing
After more than 60 years in music, countless performances, and major health battles, Elton John’s message was simple:
Despite everything his body has been through… he’s still standing.
