Influencer Emilie Kiser has shared the heartbreaking reality of grieving the loss of her 3-year-old son Trigg, revealing that there was a time when she wasn’t sure she could ever forgive her husband Brady following the devastating accident.

Speaking in her first in-depth interview since Trigg’s death in May 2025, the 27-year-old content creator opened up about the emotional journey she and her family have faced over the past year.

Trigg died after being found unconscious in the swimming pool at the family’s Arizona home. He passed away several days later, leaving his parents to navigate unimaginable grief while caring for their newborn son, Theodore.

During an emotional appearance on Jay Shetty’s On Purpose podcast, Emilie recalled the moment she received the phone call that changed her life forever.

“I could hear the pain and confusion in his voice,” she said of Brady. “I knew immediately something was wrong.”

She explained that her husband had been caring for both children while she was out having dinner with friends when the accident occurred.

“Our life completely changed that day,” Emilie said.

The influencer admitted that in the aftermath of Trigg’s death, she struggled with intense feelings of anger toward Brady.

“There was a time from the beginning where I felt so angry, I didn’t know if I could ever forgive this man,” she revealed.

However, as she processed her grief, Emilie said she began to realize how easily the tragedy could have happened while she was watching the children instead.

She explained that Brady had been juggling the demands of caring for a newborn while preparing breast milk and tending to both boys.

“That doesn’t excuse anything,” she said. “But taking that accountability, along with all the other things I know I could have changed, gave me so much true, deep, real, raw empathy for him.”

The mother of two said many people questioned how she could remain married to Brady after the accident. But she ultimately reached a place of understanding, recognizing that neither of them intended for the tragedy to happen.

“Even if I got to the point where I could not stay married to him, I would be able to forgive him because I would so deeply want him to forgive me,” she explained.

“That’s exactly how I feel for Brady.”

Despite the challenges, Emilie said the couple has worked hard through therapy and grief counseling to support each other during the darkest period of their lives.

“I’m so proud of us honestly in how we have grieved together,” she said. “All the therapy we have done, I feel like we have really been given tools.”

She acknowledged that their grief experiences are different but said they have made a conscious effort to stay connected throughout the healing process.

The influencer has since become a vocal advocate for pool safety, urging parents to take precautions around water.

“Please, protect your kids,” she pleaded during the interview.

She has repeatedly encouraged families to install pool fences, add multiple safety barriers, enroll children in swim lessons and maintain constant supervision around water.

Reflecting on the loss of Trigg, Emilie said the tragedy forever changed her perspective on life and motherhood.

“Losing a child really shows you in the scariest, most real way possible just how quickly life can change,” she said.

Now, she says her focus is on honoring Trigg’s memory while being the best mother she can be for her younger son.

“I can either let this completely derail me more than it already has, or I can do everything in my power to be the best mom I possibly can for him,” Emilie said.

Her emotional interview has resonated with many parents, offering a raw and honest look at grief, forgiveness and the difficult path toward healing after an unimaginable loss.
