Kim Kardashian is facing backlash after an awkward encounter with veteran Formula 1 reporter Martin Brundle during the prestigious Monaco Grand Prix.
The reality star attended the iconic race weekend in Monte Carlo alongside sister Khloe Kardashian, where she was reportedly supporting rumored boyfriend Lewis Hamilton.
But while celebrity appearances at Formula 1 events are nothing new, Kardashian’s interaction — or lack of one — with Brundle quickly became one of the most talked-about moments online.
During his famous pre-race grid walk for Sky Sports F1, Brundle spotted Kardashian in the crowd and jokingly told viewers: “What could possibly go wrong?”
After approaching Kardashian and her entourage, the veteran broadcaster introduced himself and asked: “Kim, Martin Brundle, Sky F1, how are you today?”
However, Kardashian appeared not to respond, offering only a brief wave before her team guided her away.
Brundle attempted one more time to spark conversation, telling her: “Normally people have a quick chat with us.”
As Kardashian continued walking, Brundle eventually moved on, telling viewers: “Kim and Khloe aren’t talking today. Allegedly, they might do later.”

The moment immediately sparked debate across social media, with many Formula 1 fans criticizing the apparent snub.
One user wrote: “It’s not hard to politely say you can’t talk right now.”
Another added: “No one is bigger than the sport.”
Others, however, defended Kardashian and suggested she may not have understood the long-standing grid walk tradition involving Brundle’s interviews.
Some fans also pointed out that celebrities attending Formula 1 races are often heavily managed by security teams and publicists, which can lead to awkward moments on live broadcasts.
Brundle’s grid walks have become a beloved — and sometimes chaotic — part of Formula 1 culture, known for spontaneous celebrity interviews and unpredictable encounters.
The incident also reminded many fans of a similar viral moment involving Cara Delevingne at the British Grand Prix in 2023, when she declined an interview request from Brundle during the grid walk.
At the time, Brundle famously responded: “Everybody needs to talk on the grid, that’s the deal now.”
While Kardashian has not publicly addressed the controversy, the clip continues to circulate online as Formula 1 fans debate whether the moment was rude, misunderstood, or simply another awkward celebrity encounter on the Monaco grid.
