Simone Biles has revealed she recently experienced what she described as the “scariest experience” of her life.

The Olympic gymnastics superstar shared the shocking update with fans on Saturday, June 6, posting a photo from the hospital showing multiple patient wristbands on her arm.

“I’m not one to normally share things like this because I value privacy in today’s age,” Biles wrote on her Instagram Stories. “But almost dying wasn’t on my bingo card earlier this week.”

The 29-year-old admitted the terrifying ordeal was made even harder because her husband, NFL player Jonathan Owens, was away in Indianapolis for football practices at the time.

“This was one of, if not the scariest experience of my life,” she wrote.

Biles explained that she has spent the week resting and recovering at home, though she has not yet revealed exactly what caused the medical emergency.

“I’ve been in bed resting this week,” she continued. “I’ll explain sooner or later but s/o to my close circle who reached out, checked in, visited & or sent flowers.”

The gymnast later shared photos of bouquets sent by loved ones as well as a picture of herself relaxing in bed with her dogs nearby.

Just days before the alarming revelation, Biles had posted cheerful updates from home, including snapshots of breakfast in bed and videos of herself doing flips on a trampoline with fellow gymnast Zoe Miller.

The health scare comes during a busy new chapter for Biles and Owens after the NFL player signed with the Indianapolis Colts earlier this year.

Fans quickly flooded social media with messages of support after Biles’ emotional post, with many expressing relief that the decorated Olympian is now safely recovering.

While she has not shared further details about what happened, Biles assured followers she is resting and surrounded by loved ones as she continues to heal.
