More than a month after the death of NASCAR legend Kyle Busch, his wife Samantha is sharing a heartbreaking look at what life has been like for their family as they continue to navigate an unimaginable loss.
In an emotional Instagram post shared on June 24, Samantha Busch opened up about balancing grief with raising the couple’s two children, son Brexton, 11, and daughter Lennix, 4.
“I lost the love of my life, my person, and my best friend,” Samantha wrote. “The man I built a life with and the person I thought I would grow old with. But I’m still Mom.”
‘Grief Doesn’t Stop Parenting’
Samantha explained that while her world has been turned upside down, her responsibilities as a mother continue every day.
“The morning still comes,” she wrote. “There are questions to answer, tears to wipe away, races to get to, bedtime stories to read, and two kids trying to make sense of a loss that no child should ever have to face.”
Although many people may view her as strong, Samantha admitted that isn’t how she feels most days.
“I miss Kyle every second of every day,” she shared. “I want to curl up in a ball and cry. But I’m a mom.”

Finding Strength for Her Children
Samantha said that despite her own pain, her focus remains on helping her children feel safe, loved and supported as they process the loss of their father.
She described pushing through difficult days by maintaining routines, comforting her children and doing everything possible to preserve a sense of normalcy.
“You get up early, have a good cry, and then go make the pancakes,” she wrote. “You smile for them when you’re in physical pain because you miss him so much.”
The couple, who married in 2010, built a family and life together over more than 15 years. Since Kyle’s passing, Samantha has frequently expressed gratitude for the support they’ve received from NASCAR fans and the racing community.
The Reason She Keeps Going
Samantha ended her emotional message by explaining what continues to motivate her during the darkest moments.
“Our children are the reason I keep putting one foot in front of the other,” she wrote.
“For Brexton. For Lennix. For him.” ❤️
