Donna Kelce has shared her first public reaction to her son Travis Kelce’s wedding to Taylor Swift, summing up the highly anticipated celebration with just one word.
Speaking while attending Macy’s 50th Fourth of July Celebration in New York City on July 4, Donna was asked about the couple’s lavish wedding, which took place the day before at Madison Square Garden.
Rather than reveal behind-the-scenes details, the mother of the groom kept things brief.
“I really can’t say a heck of a lot except it was magical, man, magical,” Donna said in an interview shared on Macy’s Instagram.
Her comment offers one of the first reactions from a close family member following the private ceremony, which brought together family, friends and a long list of celebrity guests in New York City.
A star-studded celebration
Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce exchanged vows on July 3 in a black-tie ceremony at Madison Square Garden.
According to representatives for the couple, both wore custom Christian Dior Haute Couture designs created by Jonathan Anderson. Swift completed her bridal look with custom Christian Louboutin shoes and Cartier jewelry.
Instead of traditional bridesmaids and groomsmen, the couple chose to honor their siblings. Taylor’s brother, Austin Swift, served as her Man of Honor, while Travis’ brother, Jason Kelce, was his Best Man.
Actor Adam Sandler officiated the ceremony.
Emotional vows and musical performances
According to reports, the ceremony featured deeply personal vows that lasted around 20 minutes each.
Guests were later treated to performances by music legends Paul McCartney and Stevie Nicks during the reception.
The guest list included many familiar faces from entertainment and sports, including Gigi Hadid, Bradley Cooper, Dakota Johnson, Ed Sheeran and Cherry Seaborn, Benson Boone, Miranda Lambert, Hugh Grant, Karlie Kloss, Joshua Kushner, Zoë Kravitz, Jason Sudeikis, Ethan Hawke, Jimmy Fallon and Tommy Hilfiger.
Donna reflects on family traditions
Although she avoided discussing specific wedding moments, Donna fondly remembered celebrating Independence Day with Travis and Jason when they were children.
“I remember I used to take the boys down to Lake Erie and we would watch the fireworks in Euclid, Ohio, and we had the best time,” she said.
Donna had arrived in New York ahead of the festivities and was spotted attending events leading up to the wedding celebration.
While fans may be eager for more details from inside one of the year’s biggest celebrity weddings, Donna made it clear that many of those memories will remain private. For now, her simple description of the occasion — “magical” — may be the closest glimpse into the family’s experience.
