Ben Affleck celebrated a major victory on Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, teaming up with Jeopardy! champion Jamie Ding to win the show’s $1 million grand prize for charity.

The pair successfully answered the final two questions on the latest episode of the ABC game show, earning the top prize for Affleck’s Eastern Congo Initiative, a nonprofit that supports community-led development projects in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

A Million-Dollar Finish

Entering the episode with only two questions remaining, Affleck and Ding first faced a history question about a New York Times prediction that flying would not be achieved for “1 million to 10 million years.”

After using the 50:50 lifeline, the duo correctly selected the Wright brothers’ first powered flight as the answer, moving on to the million-dollar question.

Jimmy Kimmel Helps Seal the Win

The final question asked which pair of names had not been used for a turkey pardoned by a U.S. president during the annual Thanksgiving tradition.

Unsure of the answer, Affleck and Ding turned to host Jimmy Kimmel using their Ask the Host lifeline. Kimmel suggested “Spaghetti & Meatball,” explaining that it did not sound familiar from the many years he had covered the annual White House turkey pardon.

Trusting Kimmel’s advice, the pair locked in the answer, which proved to be correct, securing the $1 million prize.

Playing for a Cause

Affleck said the winnings will benefit the Eastern Congo Initiative, an organization he founded to support education, healthcare, and economic opportunities in communities affected by conflict in eastern Congo.

The actor has long been involved in humanitarian work and has spoken frequently about raising awareness of challenges facing the region.

A Rare Million-Dollar Victory

Winning the top prize remains uncommon on the celebrity edition of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire. Affleck and Ding now join a select group of contestants who have captured the show’s highest award for charity.

Their victory also sparked playful jokes throughout the episode, with Kimmel repeatedly teasing Affleck’s longtime friend Matt Damon, who also won $1 million on the show during a previous celebrity appearance.
