An Alabama woman is recovering after a brutal dog attack that her family says could have been prevented.

Sheila Pate was walking to work when three dogs suddenly attacked her, leaving her with severe injuries across her body.

According to reports, the incident happened in Geneva, Alabama, and quickly turned into what Pate described as a near-death experience.

Her family claims the situation is even more troubling because authorities had reportedly been warned about the same dogs earlier that day.

A neighbor had allegedly contacted officials about the animals, but officers were unable to fully address the situation at the time due to other emergency duties.

By the time help arrived, the attack had already occurred, leaving Pate seriously injured and facing a long recovery.

She later spoke about the terrifying moment, saying she feared she wouldn’t survive as the dogs continued the attack.

Police are now investigating the incident and considering possible charges against the dogs’ owners, while questions continue to grow about whether more could have been done to prevent it.
