Thousands of travelers were left stranded after German airline Lufthansa cancelled hundreds of flights due to a major pilot strike.
The disruption affected more than 50,000 passengers, with hundreds of take-offs and landings called off at key airports including Frankfurt and Munich.
The strike took place over two days, after pilots were urged to walk out by their union amid an ongoing dispute over pension contributions and working conditions.
At Frankfurt Airport alone, around 570 flights were cancelled, causing widespread delays and confusion for travelers trying to reach their destinations.

Munich Airport also saw major disruption, with hundreds more cancellations, most linked to Lufthansa and its regional operations.
The airline confirmed that while it tried to limit the impact, cancellations were unavoidable due to the scale of the strike action.
Passengers affected by domestic cancellations were offered alternatives, including the option to exchange flights for train tickets within Germany.
The situation highlights growing tensions between airline staff and management, with negotiations still ongoing and further disruption not ruled out.
