A large chair-and-table brawl broke out inside a Chipotle restaurant in Washington D.C.’s Navy Yard on Friday night, videos show. According to reports by TMZ, which published its account on May 18, 2026, the melee was captured on social media and in footage obtained by investigators.
TMZ reports that police were alerted to a fight involving masked juveniles at the restaurant. The outlet says officers arriving on scene were met with a scattering of participants; some fled after teammates warned them police had arrived, according to a police report obtained by TMZ.
Video shared on social platforms and highlighted by TMZ shows multiple people throwing chairs and tables, with one clip showing a person raising a wooden chair overhead and bringing it down on another individual. Several bystanders recorded the incident from outside the restaurant as customers moved to safety.
According to the police report described by TMZ, detectives determined the confrontation began between two groups, but investigators had not established a clear motive for the dispute. Officers collected video evidence during the investigation.
Police told TMZ that no arrests were made and that there were no reported injuries from the incident. Authorities remain in possession of the footage and are continuing their inquiry.
