After years of speculation, Rihanna appears to be making real progress on her long-awaited next album. During a recent interview, A$AP Rocky confirmed that the global superstar is back in the recording studio working on new music.

Speaking on The Jason Lee Show, Rocky dismissed suggestions that family life or Rihanna’s business ventures had delayed the project. Instead, he revealed that she’s currently “in the studio” and “cooking” new material, though he stopped short of sharing any release timeline.

Rocky also shut down rumors that the couple were planning a joint album, making it clear that Rihanna’s focus is on her own project. The singer has not yet commented publicly on the latest update.

Fans have been waiting since 2016, when Rihanna released Anti, an album that produced hits including Work, Needed Me, and Love on the Brain. Since then, she has only released a handful of singles while expanding her successful Fenty Beauty and Savage X Fenty brands and raising her family.

Rihanna has previously admitted she feels enormous pressure to follow up Anti, saying she refuses to release an album unless it truly reflects her artistic growth. She has also revealed that earlier plans for a reggae-inspired record evolved, suggesting the final project will explore a broader sound.

While there’s still no official release date, Rocky’s comments provide one of the strongest indications yet that Rihanna’s long-awaited new album is actively in the works, giving fans fresh reason to be optimistic.
