Struggles Away From the Spotlight
Over the years, Matt was open about his battles with addiction and personal challenges. He stepped away from Alaskan Bush People before the series ended and largely lived outside the spotlight in recent years.
Fans of the show often viewed Matt as one of the most recognizable members of the Brown family during the program’s early seasons. He appeared in dozens of episodes as viewers followed the family’s unconventional lifestyle.
Outpouring of Support
Following Bear’s announcement, thousands of fans flooded social media with messages of sympathy and support for the Brown family.
Many expressed heartbreak over the loss and offered prayers for Matt’s mother, Ami Brown, and his siblings as they cope with the tragedy.
Remembering Matt Brown
Alaskan Bush People aired for 14 seasons between 2014 and 2022, introducing viewers to the Brown family’s off-grid way of life. Matt’s death marks another painful chapter for the family, which previously lost patriarch Billy Brown in 2021.
As loved ones await official findings from investigators, fans across the country are remembering Matt for the role he played on one of Discovery’s most popular reality series.
