Bunnie Xo has publicly addressed her split from Jelly Roll for the first time, revealing that although their marriage is ending, the pair still plan to move forward with their long-discussed dream of having a child together.
Speaking on her podcast Dumb Blonde, Bunnie, whose real name is Alisa DeFord, said the divorce has progressed quickly but stressed that the situation is far different from what many fans may assume.
‘Nobody Cheated’
The podcast host explained that there was no infidelity behind the breakup and described Jelly Roll, born Jason DeFord, as her “best friend.”
According to Bunnie, the pair have reached a point where they believe they fulfilled an important role in each other’s lives and are now focusing on maintaining a healthy relationship moving forward rather than engaging in a bitter separation.

She revealed that they lost four embryos during the process and said the experience affected her emotionally, physically, and spiritually. The couple had previously shared their hopes of expanding their family through IVF and surrogacy after facing repeated setbacks.

Bunnie also disclosed that a heated argument on Mother’s Day became a turning point in their relationship.
During the disagreement, she told Jelly Roll to file for divorce. While she said the comment was made out of frustration, the country star ultimately followed through. Bunnie admitted she was surprised when the filing became reality and initially hoped they would work through their problems in therapy.
Still Moving Forward With Parenthood
Despite ending their marriage, both remain committed to becoming parents together.
