After more than 10 years together, Courteney Cox and Snow Patrol musician Johnny McDaid have ended their relationship.

The split between the Friends actress, 62, and the 49-year-old musician has been confirmed, bringing an end to one of Hollywood’s longest-running relationships. The couple first met in 2013 at a party hosted by Cox and quickly became one of entertainment’s most private couples.

They became engaged less than a year after they started dating, but called off their engagement in late 2015. Despite the breakup, they reunited in 2016 and remained together without getting engaged again.

The pair largely kept their romance out of the spotlight, though they occasionally appeared together at public events. Their last public outing came at the U.S. Open in September 2025. Earlier that summer, Cox shared a heartfelt birthday tribute to McDaid on Instagram, writing:

“Happy birthday to the man who can do most anything. I love you always.”

In a 2024 podcast interview, Cox reflected on a difficult period in their relationship, revealing that McDaid ended their engagement during a couples therapy session.

“We broke up in therapy,” she recalled. “I didn’t know it was coming… We were engaged, and I was so shocked. I was in so much pain.”

Despite describing it as heartbreaking, Cox said the experience ultimately helped her grow.

“It really taught me how I operated in the world,” she explained. “I learned not to take things personally, to understand my boundaries, and to work through things from my childhood.”

She previously credited that difficult chapter with strengthening their relationship after they reconciled, saying it helped her reclaim her voice and develop healthier boundaries.

Representatives for both Cox and McDaid have not publicly commented on the breakup.
