Former TV Actor Receives Lengthy Prison Sentence
Former actor Nick Pasqual, who appeared in a 2011 episode of “How I Met Your Mother,” has been sentenced to 32 years to life in prison following his conviction in the attempted murder of his ex-girlfriend, Hollywood makeup artist Allie Shehorn.
Attack Shocked Hollywood Community
Prosecutors said the attack took place in May 2024 at Shehorn’s home in Sunland, California. Authorities alleged that Pasqual broke into the residence during the early morning hours and stabbed Shehorn more than 20 times before fleeing the area.
Despite suffering life-threatening injuries, Shehorn survived after undergoing emergency surgery and extensive medical treatment.
Survivor Shares Emotional Testimony
During court proceedings, Shehorn recalled the terrifying moments following the attack and described fearing for her life as she lay seriously injured. Her testimony became a key part of the case presented to jurors.
Shehorn had previously obtained a restraining order against Pasqual and testified that the relationship had become abusive before their separation.
Jury Finds Pasqual Guilty
Following the trial, jurors convicted Pasqual of attempted murder, first-degree residential burglary and other related charges connected to the attack.
The sentence means the former actor could spend the remainder of his life behind bars.

Judge Questions Apology
During sentencing, Pasqual expressed remorse and apologized to Shehorn in court. However, the judge reportedly questioned the sincerity of those statements after prosecutors referenced a recent recorded phone call in which Pasqual allegedly mocked the victim.
The comments became a significant point of discussion during the hearing.
Civil Lawsuit Still Pending
In addition to the criminal case, Pasqual is facing a civil lawsuit filed by Shehorn. The lawsuit includes allegations of sexual battery, assault, negligence, gender violence and intentional infliction of emotional distress.
The civil proceedings are expected to continue separately from the criminal case.
A Case That Drew National Attention
While Pasqual’s acting career included only a handful of television appearances, the case attracted widespread attention because of the brutality of the attack and Shehorn’s survival.
For many observers, the sentencing marked the conclusion of a closely watched criminal case that began with a violent incident and ended with a lengthy prison term.
