Former President Joe Biden didn’t hold back during a Democratic Party gala, calling President Donald Trump a “loser” while criticizing what he described as a series of expensive “vanity projects” undertaken during Trump’s second term.

Speaking at the Maryland Democratic Party’s Back & Win Summit and Gala on Saturday, Biden mocked several of Trump’s high-profile initiatives, including plans for a new White House ballroom, renovations to the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool, and his unsuccessful effort to attach his name to the Kennedy Center.

“It’s not just his vanity projects,” Biden told the crowd. “Tearing down the East Wing of the White House, making room for his ballroom, putting his name on the Kennedy Center, building an arch in his own honor, even hiring his own pool guy to fix the Reflecting Pool.”

He then paused before adding, “What a loser,” drawing applause and laughter from attendees.

Biden argued that the projects reflected more than just personal ambition, claiming they symbolized what he called widespread corruption within the administration.

“The Reflecting Pool reflects something even worse than the narcissism and incompetence at the core of this administration,” Biden said. “It’s the corruption. The brazen, blatant corruption on a scale never seen before in American history in any administration.”

He also accused Trump of personally profiting while in office.

“Trump has made billions of dollars as he returned to the White House,” Biden claimed. “He has no shame. Frankly, it’s embarrassing to the country. Making money off the presidency is the only reason he wants to be president.”

Trump’s second term has included several high-profile projects across Washington, D.C., including plans for a White House ballroom, renovations around the National Mall, and proposals to reshape several national landmarks. His attempt to add his name to the Kennedy Center was ultimately blocked in court, and the name was later removed.

Biden’s remarks quickly drew attention online, adding another chapter to the long-running political rivalry between the two leaders as debate over Trump’s second-term agenda continues.
