Jeffrey Epstein’s brother is once again disputing the official narrative surrounding Epstein’s 2019 death after a previously sealed note was made public this week.

Mark Epstein told Business Insider he believes the so-called “suicide note” linked to his brother is completely fabricated, arguing it would have been easy for someone to imitate Jeffrey Epstein’s writing style.

Note Emerged Years After Epstein’s Death

The note reportedly surfaced through court records connected to Nicholas Tartaglione, Epstein’s former jail cellmate.

According to Tartaglione, the note was discovered inside a book after Epstein was moved to another cell following an alleged suicide attempt in July 2019, weeks before his death inside a Manhattan jail.

The document remained sealed for years before being unsealed by a federal judge this week.

Mark Epstein Calls Document ‘Easy to Fake’

Mark Epstein strongly rejected the authenticity of the note, claiming anyone could have copied phrases his brother previously used in emails and public communications.

One line in the note reportedly references the classic comedy series “Little Rascals,” a phrase Jeffrey Epstein had allegedly used in older emails that later became public.

Mark argued that detail could have been copied intentionally to make the note appear genuine.

Questions Around First ‘Suicide Attempt’

The newly surfaced document relates to an earlier jail incident in July 2019, not Epstein’s eventual death on August 10 of that year.

At the time, jail officials initially described the incident as a suicide attempt after Epstein was found injured in his cell. However, Epstein reportedly first claimed that Tartaglione attacked him before later changing his account.

Mark Epstein now insists there was never a suicide attempt at all and believes his brother feared retaliation inside prison.

Official Investigations Ruled Death a Suicide

Federal investigations, including a lengthy Department of Justice inspector general review, ultimately concluded that Epstein died by suicide while awaiting trial on federal sex trafficking charges.

Still, skepticism surrounding the case has continued for years, fueled by security failures, malfunctioning cameras, and unanswered questions about conditions inside the jail that night.

Additional Court Records May Be Released

The judge overseeing the case has reportedly indicated that more documents connected to the note could eventually be unsealed, potentially offering further insight into its origins and authenticity.

Mark Epstein remains unconvinced, continuing to argue that his brother’s death should be treated as a homicide investigation rather than a suicide case.

Epstein Case Continues to Fuel Public Speculation

The resurfacing of the alleged note has reignited online debate surrounding one of the most controversial jail deaths in recent history.

Even years later, the case continues to generate public fascination, conspiracy theories, and renewed scrutiny over what exactly happened inside the Manhattan detention facility in 2019.
