American musician and internet personality Oliver Tree has reportedly died at the age of 32 following a tragic helicopter collision in Brazil.
According to multiple international reports, two helicopters collided midair over Rio de Janeiro on Sunday morning, killing all six people aboard the aircraft. Authorities say an investigation into the cause of the crash is now underway.
Crash Sparked Massive Fire in Rio de Janeiro
Brazilian emergency officials said one of the helicopters crashed into the parking lot of a car dealership, where several vehicles caught fire after impact.
Videos shared by Brazilian media appeared to show one aircraft falling rapidly from the sky before thick smoke and flames erupted at the scene.
Authorities confirmed there were no survivors.
Oliver Tree was reportedly aboard one of the helicopters alongside Argentine YouTuber Gaspar Prim Díaz, known online as “Gaspi,” as well as passengers Lucas Vignale and Lucas Brito Chaves. Pilots Alexandre Souza and Charles Marsillac also died in the collision.
Oliver Tree’s Final Posts Showed Him Enjoying Brazil
In the days before the crash, Tree had been sharing upbeat social media posts from Brazil while traveling during his “World’s First World Tour.”
The singer posted videos of himself playing football, joking around with Brazilian internet personality Iae Break, and celebrating on a football pitch while holding a replica World Cup trophy.

Fans have since described the clips as heartbreaking to watch following news of his sudden death.
Tree had recently performed in São Paulo and was scheduled to continue touring across Europe later this year, including planned shows in Portugal and the United Kingdom.
Oliver Tree Became One of the Internet’s Most Unique Artists
Born Oliver Tree Nickell in Santa Cruz, California, the musician rose to fame through his unusual blend of alternative pop music, comedy, and viral internet content.
Known for his signature bowl haircut and eccentric persona, he became widely recognized for songs including “Life Goes On,” “Miss You,” and “Alien Boy.”
Beyond music, Tree built a massive online following through absurd comedy videos, elaborate stunts, and unpredictable performances.
In 2020, he even broke a Guinness World Record for riding the world’s largest kick scooter.
Despite often portraying an exaggerated comedic character online, many collaborators described him as thoughtful and supportive behind the scenes.
Celebrities and Fans Paid Emotional Tributes
Tributes quickly poured in from fellow musicians, creators, and fans around the world after reports of the crash emerged.
YouTuber and musician KSI, who collaborated with Tree on the song “Voices,” shared an emotional message online.
“Can’t believe I’m actually having to type this,” KSI wrote.
“You’re 32 man. You should still be here. You still had so much life to live. So much music to make. So much content to make.”
He added that part of him hoped the news was somehow “just one of his pranks.”
“Jackass” star Steve-O also paid tribute, describing Tree as a caring friend who regularly checked in on people around him.
His Comments About Death Have Resurfaced
Following news of his death, fans also began resharing comments Tree made earlier this year about what he wanted done with his wealth after he died.
During an appearance on the Zach Sang Show in April, Tree revealed he had created a foundation intended to support artists after his passing.
“I don’t believe that any of the wealth or the things that get made from it is mine,” he said at the time.
He explained that his estate would eventually fund “Dr. Oliver Tree’s Art Grants for Baby Geniuses,” a foundation designed to support future artists and creative projects.
Tree also made a darkly humorous comment that many fans now find especially emotional in hindsight.
“People will finally appreciate my stupid videos or my stupid songs,” he said. “That’s when people appreciate you, when you’re not there anymore.”
Investigation Into the Crash Continues
Brazilian authorities are continuing to investigate what caused the two helicopters to collide over Rio de Janeiro.
At the time of reporting, officials were still working through formal identification procedures for several victims due to the severity of the crash.
The sudden tragedy has left fans across the world stunned, with many calling Tree one of the internet era’s most creative and unpredictable artists.
