Prince Harry made an unexpected public appearance in London as he attended the premiere of his friend Misan Harriman’s documentary, Shoot the People, marking the first public engagement of his latest visit to the United Kingdom.
The Duke of Sussex was seen smiling alongside the acclaimed photographer and filmmaker, who has been a close friend of Harry and Meghan Markle for several years.
Supporting a longtime friend
Harry attended the premiere to celebrate Harriman’s latest documentary, which highlights the work of activists and photographers documenting social change. A spokesperson for the Duke said he wanted to support his friend and praised the film as a meaningful project.
According to the spokesperson, Harry was “in good form” and happy to be back in the U.K. as he begins a busy week of engagements.

A familiar face in the Sussexes’ story
Harriman has played an important role in Harry and Meghan’s public life. He photographed the couple’s pregnancy announcement in 2021 and accompanied them during their visit to Nigeria in 2024.
His latest documentary premiere provided a low-key setting for Harry’s return, with members of the public also able to attend the event.
Meghan and the children remain in California
Harry traveled to the U.K. without Meghan Markle or their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. While there had been speculation that the family might travel together, those plans did not materialize.
The Duke is expected to participate in several charity engagements during his visit, including events connected to the countdown for the 2027 Invictus Games in Birmingham.
Security questions continue
Harry’s latest trip has once again highlighted the ongoing dispute over his security arrangements in the United Kingdom. Since stepping back as a working royal in 2020, he and his family no longer receive the same automatic publicly funded police protection during private visits.
Discussions surrounding accommodation during this visit also attracted attention after conflicting accounts emerged regarding an invitation to stay at a royal residence. Harry’s representatives and Buckingham Palace have offered different versions of how those arrangements unfolded.
Looking ahead
Despite the continued debate over security, Harry appears focused on his charitable work and supporting longtime friends during his stay. His surprise appearance at the London premiere offered a rare public glimpse of the Duke before a week of scheduled engagements across the U.K.
As his visit continues, attention is expected to remain on both his charity work and the ongoing discussions surrounding future visits with Meghan and their children.
