A Special Tribute to Princess Diana

Prince Harry has revealed the touching tradition he, Meghan Markle, Prince Archie, and Princess Lilibet share each year to honor the memory of Princess Diana.

Speaking during Scotty’s Summer Festival in Warwickshire, Harry said the family celebrates both Diana’s birthday and remembers her on the anniversary of her death by making a lemon drizzle cake, calling the tradition a meaningful way to keep her memory alive.

‘Traditions Are Really Important’

During a question-and-answer session at the charity event, Harry was asked whether he does anything special to mark his mother’s birthday or the anniversary of her passing.

“I think traditions are really, really important,” the Duke of Sussex said, adding that making the cake has become a simple but heartfelt family ritual. He described it as a tradition that is “especially” meaningful because it brings loved ones together.

Continuing to Speak Openly About Grief

Harry has long been open about the lasting impact of losing Princess Diana, who died in a car crash in Paris in 1997 when he was just 12 years old. In recent public appearances, he has spoken about the importance of acknowledging grief rather than ignoring it.

The Duke has often emphasized that healing takes time and that sharing personal experiences can help others who are coping with loss, particularly young people facing similar challenges.

Family Reunion During U.K. Visit

The comments came during Harry’s latest visit to the United Kingdom, which also included a private family reunion with King Charles III and Queen Camilla at Highgrove House. It marked the first time Meghan Markle, Archie, and Lilibet had seen the King in person in several years.

Although Buckingham Palace confirmed the family gathering took place, no photographs or additional details were released, as the meeting was kept private.
