President Donald Trump delivered a forceful warning to Iran, claiming the U.S. carried out overnight military strikes after accusing Tehran of violating a previous agreement.
Speaking about the escalating tensions, Trump alleged that American forces inflicted significant damage on Iranian military assets, including air defense systems, while vowing that future attacks would be met with an immediate response.
Trump Claims U.S. Hit Iranian Military Equipment
“Most of their equipment is gone. Their anti-aircraft gun, we hit them very hard last night,” Trump said, adding that U.S. forces would continue responding to any threats.
He also claimed that every Iranian drone launched toward U.S. interests would trigger swift military retaliation.
“Every time they send a drone, we hit them very hard,” Trump stated.
Accuses Iran of Breaking the Agreement
Trump argued that the latest escalation came after Iran failed to honor an earlier military agreement.
“But we had a deal… And then they broke it. They always break it,” he said, suggesting the United States had little choice but to resume military action.
The president did not provide additional details about the alleged agreement or the specific strikes during his remarks.
Comments on the Strait of Hormuz
Trump also suggested the United States could take a larger role in securing the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most strategically important shipping lanes for global energy supplies.
“We’re just going to hit them very hard and we’re going to keep the Strait and we’ll probably run it,” he said.
His comments come as tensions in the region remain elevated, with concerns over commercial shipping, energy markets and the possibility of further military escalation.
Officials have not yet released additional information about the reported overnight strikes or whether diplomatic efforts to reduce tensions remain ongoing.
