A new passport design is already turning heads — and it hasn’t even launched yet.
According to reports, the U.S. State Department is preparing to release limited-edition passports to mark the country’s 250th anniversary — and they’ll feature Donald Trump in a way no passport ever has before.
What’s Changing?
The commemorative passports, part of the wider America250 initiative, are expected to roll out this summer.
Mock-ups suggest:
- Trump’s image will appear on the inside cover
- The Declaration of Independence text will be included
- His signature will be printed in gold
- Additional pages will feature iconic historical imagery
The design is meant to celebrate American history — but it’s already generating debate.

Limited Availability
These passports won’t be everywhere.
Officials say they’ll be:
- Available to U.S. citizens applying for passports
- Released in limited quantities
- Initially distributed through the Washington Passport Agency
Part of a Bigger Celebration
The passport is just one piece of a much larger nationwide event.
Planned highlights include:
- A major festival on the National Mall
- A “Great American State Fair” with attractions from all 50 states
- Fireworks at Mount Rushmore
- High-profile events like a UFC fight and Grand Prix-style race
Why It’s Raising Eyebrows
While officials say the passports maintain full security standards, the inclusion of a sitting president’s image is what’s drawing attention.
For many, it’s:
- A unique patriotic tribute
- Or an unusual break from tradition
Either way, it’s quickly becoming one of the most talked-about parts of the America250 rollout.
