Parents are being urged to immediately check their refrigerators after a recall was issued for several organic baby food products over fears they may contain mold.

The warning was announced by the Food Standards Agency after manufacturer Glenisk recalled multiple Organic Baby Fromage Frais products.

Products Affected by the Recall

According to the recall notice, the affected products may contain mold, making them “unfit for human consumption.”

The recalled items include:

  • Organic Baby Fromage Frais mango with apple, banana & oats (4x60g)
  • Organic Baby Fromage Frais strawberry with banana, vanilla & oats (4x60g)
  • Organic Baby Fromage Frais apple, pear, carrot with oats (4x60g)

All affected products carry a use-by date of 28.05.2026.

Parents Told “Do Not Eat”

The Food Standards Agency issued clear guidance warning families not to allow children to consume any of the affected products.

“If you have bought the above products, do not eat them,” the agency stated.

Consumers are instead being advised to safely dispose of the products and contact Glenisk directly regarding replacements or further information.

Company Responds to the Warning

In a statement shared with customers, Glenisk confirmed retailers had been instructed to remove the affected batches from shelves immediately.

“We kindly ask consumers to discard affected products,” the company said.

“If you have purchased one of the affected products, please contact us and our team will be happy to arrange a replacement.”

Retailers Displaying Recall Notices

The FSA also confirmed that recall notices will be displayed in stores selling the products as well as online, helping customers identify whether they purchased affected batches.

Food recalls involving baby products often receive heightened attention due to the vulnerability of infants and young children.

Why Mold in Food Is a Concern

Food safety experts warn that mold contamination can pose health risks, particularly for babies, whose immune systems are still developing.

While not every type of mold causes serious illness, contaminated products are typically removed from sale as a precautionary measure.

Parents are being encouraged to carefully check packaging details and use-by dates to ensure they do not accidentally use affected products.
