A 21-year-old woman tragically died during a bungee jumping incident in Brazil after witnesses claimed a safety rope was not properly attached before the jump.
The incident reportedly took place in the city of Limeira in São Paulo state, where Maria Eduarda Rodrigues de Freitas had visited a bridge attraction offering adrenaline-fueled jumps over a deep gorge.
Witnesses Claim Safety Equipment Was Missing
According to reports from local media, Maria was carried toward the edge of the bridge by staff members moments before the jump.
Video footage circulating online allegedly captured people shouting about the rope immediately after she was pushed from the platform: “The rope, people, the rope!”
Witnesses claimed staff members failed to secure the life-saving cord before the jump took place.
Emergency responders, including firefighters and paramedics, were dispatched to the scene, but Maria did not survive the fall.
Authorities Detained Several People at the Scene
