Donald Trump’s granddaughter, Kai Trump, found herself at the center of an online debate after fans accused her of editing out boos from a video filmed during Game Three of the NBA Finals at Madison Square Garden.
The 19-year-old attended the June 8 matchup alongside her grandfather as the New York Knicks faced the San Antonio Spurs. While the game itself drew major attention, much of the online conversation quickly shifted toward the crowd’s reaction to the former president.
Crowd Reaction Sparks Debate
Videos circulating online appeared to show sections of the arena booing as Donald Trump arrived with Kai by his side. At the same time, Trump later claimed the reception inside the arena was mostly positive.
“It was, I think, mostly cheers. It was loud, and it was very enthusiastic,” Trump told reporters after the game.
Kai later shared a polished clip from the night on Instagram alongside the caption:
“The atmosphere was amazing. Let’s get that win on Wednesday. Go Knicks.”
However, some viewers immediately noticed that the viral boos heard in other clips were not present in the video posted to her account.

Social Media Users Accused Kai Of Editing The Audio
The missing boos sparked speculation online, with many accusing Kai of deliberately removing the crowd reaction before uploading the footage.
One commenter wrote:
“Girl your face says it all lmao!! Grandpa & u were BOOED.”
Another added:
“She replaced the audio.”
The accusations quickly spread across social media, with some claiming the video had been altered to make the crowd reaction appear more supportive.
Company Behind The Clip Responds
According to Page Six, Kai was not actually responsible for editing the video herself.
The footage was reportedly created and delivered by a company called 15 Seconds of Fame (15SOF), which uses AI technology to identify fans appearing on arena screens and automatically sends them customized clips.
A spokesperson for the company denied that Kai requested any edits to the audio.
“The video shared by Kai Trump on Instagram was exactly the clip delivered by 15SOF to her account on our app and at no time did she request that any audio be altered, enhanced, replaced, or otherwise manipulated.”
The company also explained that alternate audio tracks are often added automatically because of licensing and broadcast restrictions.
Why The Audio Was Different
The spokesperson further clarified that the process is fully automated and not controlled by the users receiving the clips.
“Due to various broadcast, licensing, and contractual restrictions, 15SOF frequently cannot distribute original event audio and instead utilizes automated alternate contextual audio tracks as part of our content-delivery process.”
The company added that it regularly provides similar edited clips to fans attending major sporting events and celebrity appearances.
Trump’s Appearance Continued To Divide Fans
Donald Trump’s appearance at Madison Square Garden generated major reactions online, particularly after videos of the crowd surfaced across social media platforms.
While some supporters insisted the reception was largely positive, others focused on the boos heard during portions of the broadcast.
The viral moment ultimately became less about basketball and more about the ongoing public fascination surrounding Trump family appearances at high-profile events.
