Angelina Jolie is reportedly focused on healing and moving forward as another of her children seeks to remove “Pitt” from their last name.

According to court documents, 18-year-old Vivienne has filed a petition to legally change her name from Vivienne Marcheline Jolie-Pitt to Vivienne Marcheline Jolie, listing the reason simply as “personal.”

Four of the former couple’s children have now taken similar steps

Vivienne joins three of her siblings who have already sought to legally drop the Pitt surname.

Shiloh successfully changed her name in 2024, while Zahara and Maddox also have petitions pending. Their court hearings are scheduled for later this year.

The requests come years after Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s highly publicized split and lengthy legal battles following their 2016 separation.

Source says Jolie hopes the family can heal

A source close to Jolie said the actress is not interested in continuing conflict.

“If people knew the whole truth, they would have more sympathy for the children and respect them,” the source claimed.

The source added that Jolie has chosen not to publicly criticize anyone and instead hopes the family can move forward.

“Angie hasn’t been fighting and isn’t angry. She just wants everyone to heal,” the source said.

Pitt has also spoken about the importance of family

Brad Pitt has not publicly commented on his children’s recent name change requests.

However, during a red carpet interview in 2025, he reflected on what matters most as he’s gotten older.

He said surrounding himself with family, friends and the people who love him has become one of life’s biggest priorities.

More hearings are scheduled this year

Vivienne’s petition is scheduled to be heard in court on November 2.

Meanwhile, Maddox and Zahara are also expected to appear before the court later this year as their own legal name change requests continue through the process.
