Anna Faris has revealed that Scary Movie 6 nearly included a controversial joke referencing former First Lady Melania Trump, but the scene was ultimately removed from the final version of the film.

The actress shared the behind-the-scenes detail during a recent interview while discussing her return as Cindy Campbell in the long-running parody franchise.

According to Faris, she wanted the character to evolve into a very specific type of chaotic personality inspired by modern internet culture and political conspiracy trends.

Faris Wanted Cindy Campbell To Fall Into A “MAGA Rabbit Hole”

Speaking about her vision for the character, Faris explained that she imagined Cindy as someone who had fully embraced conspiracy theories and political outrage culture.

She joked that Cindy would resemble the kind of person seen arguing loudly outside stores during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Faris described the character as someone deeply caught up in internet-fueled paranoia while still maintaining the clueless comedic energy fans associate with the franchise.

The Deleted Melania Trump Reference

Faris also revealed one joke that was filmed but eventually cut from the movie.

In the scene, Cindy was reportedly sitting drunk inside her truck before looking into the mirror and saying to herself: “Be best, Cindy Campbell. Be best.”

The line referenced Melania Trump’s “Be Best” campaign, which launched in 2018 as an initiative focused on children’s well-being and online behavior.

According to Faris, she personally found the joke hilarious and viewed it as a playful wink to viewers familiar with American political culture.

Scary Movie Franchise Known For Controversial Humor

Faris said she was not worried about pushing boundaries because the Scary Movie series has always built its reputation around offensive, outrageous, and highly topical comedy.

She joked that after appearing in films known for mocking nearly everything in pop culture, she feels audiences are unlikely to be shocked by anything Cindy Campbell says anymore.

The franchise originally debuted in 2000 and became famous for parodying horror films, celebrities, political figures, and major news stories.

Faris Returns Alongside Familiar Faces

Scary Movie 6 marks Faris’ return to the franchise after she did not appear in 2013’s Scary Movie 5.

The upcoming sequel reunites her with several familiar cast members, including Marlon Wayans, Shawn Wayans, and Regina Hall.

Fans of the series have been eager to see the original cast return, especially after years of speculation surrounding another installment.

Although the Melania Trump joke did not survive the final edit, Faris’ comments have already sparked discussion online about just how far the new movie may be willing to go with political satire and controversial humor.
