What should have been the happiest day of her life quickly turned into a nightmare for Gemma Monk, a bride in the UK who was attacked just seconds before walking down the aisle.

The 35-year-old was arriving at her wedding venue in Maidstone when someone called her name. As she turned around, she was suddenly drenched in black paint, leaving her dress, face, and hair completely covered.

To her shock, the attacker was her own sister-in-law, Antonia Eastwood, who had not even been invited to the wedding due to an ongoing family feud.
The dispute reportedly began at a previous wedding, where Eastwood accused the bride of trying to trip her. That accusation led to tensions that escalated into this dramatic act of revenge.
Despite the chaos and humiliation, Gemma refused to let the attack ruin her day. She cleaned herself up, found a replacement dress at the last minute, and continued with the ceremony about two hours later.
However, the emotional impact has been lasting. The bride later revealed the incident left her struggling mentally and unable to work, describing it as something that changed her life and “took away her dignity.”
In court, Eastwood admitted to the attack and was given a suspended prison sentence, along with community service and financial compensation for the damage caused.
Although the couple still went through with their wedding, what should have been a joyful memory has been overshadowed by a moment they say they may never fully forget.
