Christina Applegate’s former Married… With Children co-star David Faustino has shared a heartfelt update on the actress as she continues living with multiple sclerosis (MS).

Applegate publicly revealed her diagnosis in 2021 after years of experiencing symptoms connected to the neurological condition, which affects the brain and spinal cord.

David Faustino Says Christina Applegate Still Has Her Humor

Faustino, who played Bud Bundy alongside Applegate’s Kelly Bundy on the hit sitcom, recently opened up about their ongoing friendship and regular conversations.

Speaking to Us Weekly, the actor said Applegate continues to rely on humor despite the challenges caused by her illness.

“I admire her being strong in the face of this, even though it’s been a real blow,” Faustino said.

“It’s been very hard for her, but she does keep her humor.”

He added that Applegate still has the same “dry, sarcastic sense of humor” she had when they first met years ago on set.

The Actress Has Spoken Openly About Daily Struggles

Multiple sclerosis is an incurable autoimmune disease that can cause fatigue, pain, balance issues, mobility difficulties, and vision problems.

Applegate has previously shared how dramatically the condition changed everyday parts of her life that many people take for granted.

“There are just certain things that people take for granted in their lives that I took for granted,” she explained in an earlier interview.

“Going down the stairs, carrying things, you can’t do that anymore.”

The actress revealed she had started experiencing symptoms years before receiving an official diagnosis.

Their Friendship Has Stayed Strong Over the Years

Faustino said he stays in close contact with Applegate through visits, texts, and regular check-ins.

According to him, the pair still spend much of their time joking and laughing together despite the serious circumstances.

“We do have deep convos when we sit,” he said. “But we also keep the laughter as well.”

The actor explained that one of the most important things he can offer Applegate right now is simply continued support and friendship.

Christina Applegate Recently Reflected on Her Life

Applegate has also been opening up more publicly through interviews and her memoir, You with the Sad Eyes, where she discusses both her career and deeply personal struggles.

The book explores painful experiences from her life, including insecurities, trauma, and the emotional impact of her health battle.

She explained that her MS diagnosis ultimately changed the way she views life and what truly matters.

“For a long time, it felt impossible to find the meaning in everything I’ve been through,” Applegate wrote.

“I’ve packed a lot into these 50-something years.”

Despite the ongoing challenges of living with MS, fans continue praising the actress for her honesty, resilience, and willingness to speak openly about the realities of the condition.
