Concerns Grow Following Series of Discoveries
Fears of a possible serial killer have emerged in Mexico’s Jalisco state after several women were found dead in and around the popular tourist destination of Puerto Vallarta.

The discovery of three female bodies within a matter of days has sparked concern among residents and local officials, with questions being raised about whether the deaths could be connected.
Three Bodies Found Within Days
According to local reports, the first victim was discovered on May 10 near Rancho El Pirulí in the Chimborazo area. A second woman’s body was found at a roadside stop on May 15, followed by a third discovery on a dirt road in the Parque Las Palmas neighborhood on May 21.
Reports indicate that all three victims suffered severe injuries, including significant trauma to their faces and bodies.
Officials Reject Serial Killer Theory
Despite growing speculation, prosecutors have stated that preliminary investigations have not found evidence linking the three deaths.
Authorities are reportedly exploring the possibility that the women may have been killed elsewhere before their bodies were left in the Puerto Vallarta area. Investigators have not publicly identified a common suspect or confirmed any connection between the cases.
Politician Questions Official Conclusions
Local politician Yussara Canales has publicly challenged the position taken by authorities, arguing that similarities between the cases deserve closer examination.

Canales pointed to what she described as a recurring detail involving the victims’ clothing, suggesting there may be a pattern that investigators should not ignore.
She also questioned whether officials are reluctant to acknowledge the possibility of a serial offender due to concerns about negative publicity ahead of major international events scheduled in the region.
Safety Concerns Intensify
Canales said the killings have created fear among women in the community and urged authorities to take every possible precaution while investigations continue.
Her comments have fueled debate over whether enough is being done to address public concerns and whether residents are receiving clear information about potential risks.
What We Know So Far
At present, authorities maintain that there is no confirmed evidence connecting the deaths or indicating the presence of a serial killer. The investigations remain ongoing, and officials have not announced any arrests related to the cases.
The situation has nevertheless attracted widespread attention due to the number of victims involved and the proximity of the discoveries.
Why the Case Is Drawing Attention
Jalisco is one of Mexico’s most populous states and is home to Puerto Vallarta, one of the country’s best-known tourist destinations. Any suggestion of a serial offender operating in the area has naturally generated significant public concern.
Until investigators release additional findings, questions surrounding the deaths remain unanswered, leaving residents closely watching for developments in the case.
