For years, fans have debated one question: What really happened to Eleven at the end of Stranger Things?

Now, star Millie Bobby Brown has offered her most revealing comments yet—and while she still isn’t giving away the answer, she confirmed that only a select few people actually know the truth.

Speaking during a live recording of the Happy Sad Confused podcast in New York, Brown revealed that the show’s creators, the Duffer Brothers, immediately reminded her to keep Eleven’s fate secret after the finale aired.

“They were like, ‘Do not tell anyone,'” Brown explained. “Because we made it a secret kind of pledge.”

According to the actress, the mystery remains closely guarded.

“No one else knows. It’s just us three.”

Even the Cast Can’t Agree

While fans continue to debate whether Eleven survived the final battle against Vecna, Brown revealed that many of her fellow cast members believe the character is gone for good.

“The whole cast thinks I’m dead,” she joked. “One, rude. It’s so rude of them.”

The actress laughed about the situation but suggested there may be more to the story than viewers realize.

“I was like, ‘Believe!’ Let’s have some hope in here.”

Audience members at the event overwhelmingly sided with Brown, with most saying they believe Eleven survived.

The Emotional Reality of Saying Goodbye

Beyond the mystery surrounding Eleven, Brown also opened up about the emotional toll of ending the series that defined much of her childhood.

The actress admitted she struggled more than expected after filming wrapped.

“I went into a little bit of a slight depression,” she said.

Brown explained that Stranger Things had been a constant part of her life since she was just 10 years old.

Over the following weeks, she found herself reaching out to her castmates to make sure their relationships would continue after the cameras stopped rolling.

“We’re still friends, right? Like, you’re not gonna stop talking to me anymore?”

She even apologized for any past disagreements.

“I’m sorry if I ever upset you.”

The conversations were part of what she described as an effort to “mend” anything unresolved after spending a decade growing up together.

More Than Just a TV Show

For Brown, the end of Stranger Things wasn’t simply the conclusion of a successful television series.

The actress explained that the cast had become more like family than coworkers.

“These people were in my life more than my own family.”

She added that she saw the cast more often than she saw relatives at home, making the goodbye especially difficult.

“Saying goodbye to that after 10 years was a very, very emotional thing.”

A Future Reunion?

While Brown remained tight-lipped about Eleven’s fate, she did tease that another project involving her and co-star David Harbour could be on the horizon.

Harbour, who played Hopper throughout the series, has remained close with Brown, and she hinted that fans may see the pair working together again sooner than expected.

“The David Harbour project is sooner than expected,” Brown said. “And it’s David’s idea.”

For now, however, the biggest mystery remains unanswered.

Whether Eleven survived or not is still a secret known only to Brown and the Duffer Brothers—and judging by her comments, fans may be debating the ending for a long time to come.
