Reality TV personality Taylor Frankie Paul has voluntarily entered and since left a rehabilitation facility after seeking treatment on the recommendation of her doctor, according to sources familiar with the situation.
Voluntary Stay Focused on Recovery
A source told PEOPLE that Paul’s stay was voluntary and described her as “committed to getting better.” Another source added that those closest to the 32-year-old are encouraging her recovery and are focused on supporting both her and her children during this period.
According to the source, family and friends are prioritizing the well-being of Paul’s children as she works through personal challenges.
Ongoing Legal and Custody Developments
Paul’s decision comes months after she and former partner Dakota Mortensen were involved in a domestic assault investigation. Prosecutors later announced they would not file criminal charges related to that investigation.
The former couple has also been navigating an ongoing custody case involving their 2-year-old son, Ever. Court records show that Paul was initially granted supervised visitation before a judge later eased those restrictions, allowing additional parenting time while Mortensen remained the custodial parent.
Previous Domestic Violence Case
In 2023, Paul was arrested on domestic violence-related allegations after an incident involving Mortensen. She entered a guilty plea in abeyance to an aggravated assault charge, meaning the charge may be dismissed if she satisfies court-ordered conditions. Other charges connected to the case were previously dismissed.
The incident later resurfaced after previously recorded footage became public, bringing renewed attention to the case.
Impact on Television Career
Paul’s personal challenges have also affected her television projects. Production on The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives was temporarily paused earlier this year before resuming without Paul and Mortensen. Sources have indicated she could potentially return to the series in the future.
Separately, ABC canceled the planned season of The Bachelorette featuring Paul after previously unseen footage from the 2023 incident emerged shortly before the scheduled premiere.
Looking Ahead
While Paul has not publicly commented on her reported stay in rehab, sources say her current priority is focusing on her recovery, mental health, and family.
